NJPW Says There Is “No Working Relationship As Of Now” With AEW

Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated is reporting that New Japan Pro-Wrestling & Jon Moxley’s current agreement was made “completely independently of All Elite [Wrestling].” The former-WWE Champion was revealed on Sunday to be the mysterious man that has been calling out IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Juice Robinson.

Moxley will make his NJPW debut on June 5th, at the Best of Super Juniors finals. Barrasso reached out to NJPW GM Michael Craven, who said that AEW & NJPW do not have a working relationship “as of now.”

NJPW also has AEW’s Chris Jericho wrestling on June 9th, where he’ll challenge Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at Dominion.

New Japan and Jon Moxley came to terms on an agreement some time ago, completely independently of All Elite. Our understanding is that he is free to wrestle in Japan. We wish AEW well, but have no working relationship as of now.
