Womens Cricket in Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022

The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) on Tuesday announced the inclusion of women's T20 cricket in the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England. This is the first time since 1998 that cricket has been included in the Commonwealth Games. The games to be held in Birmingham will be held from 27 July to 7 August.

CGF President Louis Martin said on Tuesday, "Today is a historic day." We welcome the return of cricket to the Commonwealth Games again. We believe that the Commonwealth Games are the best platform to showcase women's T20 cricket in the best manner.

Men's teams played: In 1998, the South African men's team won the gold medal of this competition in the format of 50 overs in the Commonwealth of Kuala Lumpur. It included legends like Jack Kallis, Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar.

118 T20 matches played by Indian women's cricket team so far.
73 India won, 41 lost, one tie and three matches were inconclusive.
